I made some tough choices over the last years. Some of the consequences were unexpected and saddened me, yet I was experiencing a space to explore what lit my inner fire. To discover what ignited my energy to open and fill me with hope and inspiration.
My inner nudging was to break from the more traditional approach with some dear friends.
The work of Thor Norreanders and "User Illusion" was a massive doorway to transforming the seemingly impossible.
The world would say to me, if you don't like what your life is like, change your thinking. That is true and not easy. How do you get to the thinking that is creating the blocks?
For me, that ultimately led to a greater resistance to what I was feeling and having to go numb in order to do it the right way, and conform.
This is paraphrased from "User Illusion".
Conformity offers a kind of safety based on the appearance of being, doing and thinking like others. It offers convenient ways to blend in socially. In superficial matters conformity may cause no harm but when one bases life decisions on external voices at the expense of listening to one’s inner self, something of the greatest value can be lost.
Those who can’t or won’t follow the accepted norms are made to believe they are wrong. They are treated as failures, in need of correction. Those who follow the norms and succeed become our heroes and model setters. There is so much external pressure and such a small voice within. Outside seems so big and inside seems so small.
But inside is always there, and your low self will speak if you learn to listen. Your low self is also biased toward enjoyment and feeling good. Because if this inherent bias we respond to the beauty of the sunset, enjoy good food, love to love, want freedom and integrity. Urge to understand what is important to us. Having DNA on your side is no small advantage in this contest between inner fire and conformity. When you honor your deepest urges it becomes stronger and stronger. It is the harbinger of someday flying free.
I am reinventing myself again, and I am sure this will go on forever. It has taken several years for me to face this with some joy and fueling my passion.
