I have been digging deep to find a way of describing the 3 selves and how they work together in a way that opens the space and the possibility to test and try this approach. The other night, I began comparing their distinctions to a car, so here goes.
The Mental Body
This would be the steering system. It guides and steers and puts on the brakes when necessary, stops to refuel, accelerate or coast, or parks. This is a great description. The Conscious mind has the power to veto choices made by the subconscious. Re-educating our inner team with awareness makes the whole thing easier and manifestation more magical.
The iron grip of the mental body is a force to reckon with. That is why so many indigenous cultures had various forms of meditation. I believe a big part of embracing our humanness is the retraining of our conscious mind and subconscious mind to work together. Maybe this is an expression of the duality of our nature described in many of the Holy Books.
Remember historically we have placed a heavy importance to our conscious minds. True, it is where we learn discernment, but is very limited compared to the vast abilities held in our inner child/subconscious.The subconscious process over 11.000,000 bits of information per second and the conscious mind only 16. A little side note; with our reliance on technology we have given a false of power to our conscious minds or mental body. With a computer we process huge amounts of information per second and as a consequence of this we are becoming bored. Think about this, we have this vast reservoir of wisdom and knowledge we rarely tap into consciously. This is the great understanding of the super coaches. They systematically create exercises and repetitive assignments between these two selves until the conscious mind can surrender to our inner child, our inner genius. This is where the sublime happens. These are distinctions I have grokked from "User Illusion" and the work of Max Freedom Long.
The steering mechanism, the conscious mind is capable of coaching, initiating forgiveness (where we have caused harm to another), it is charge of correcting errors and getting back on track. One of its most important roles is to guide, help and love the inner child/subconscious mind.
When manifesting or praying this is where you form a picture, with specificity of your desired outcome, or the healed state.
It also helps the inner child let go of burdens, initiates deeds and acts of kindness to right wrongs, it can also determine if the prayer or request is worthy of the High Self. It is in charge of re-education the inner child, and can live from the healed state and give thanks.
When the conscious mind is not aligned, you become heady, disconnected from your feelings, numb and you become terrified of surrendering to unknown ways or scenarios. The conscious mind desires to compartmentalize, figure everything out and seeks control.
When we are blindly led by our conscious minds, we miss the richness found in exploring the terrain and finding out what we are capable of.
The doorway to greater fulfillment and wonder is by working with our intricate nature with awareness. The 3 selves are our nature, and with our current approach we are destroying our world. Having this vast reservoir within can heal ourselves and our world quickly and with love.
