Your Gift and Unique Expression
There is vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, your expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how valuable it is, nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work.
Be awake to the consequences of conformity
Conformity offers a kind of safety based on the appearance of being, doing and thinking like others. It offers convenient ways to blend in socially. In superficial matters conformity may cause no harm but when one bases life decisions on external voices at the expense of listening to one’s inner self, something of the greatest value can be lost, and is full of pitfalls.
A Call to Action
If we look at our world as being an outpicturing of our inner worlds, it is screaming for change.
“The culture and civilization of consciousness has celebrated huge triumphs, but it also creates huge problems. Trust that we dare to take our own experience seriously is the way to daring to experience what is, even if it is unpleasant. The question is whether there must be a change in the way we live; in the values we set for what it means to be human and to live a good life; a reassessment of the role of consciousness in our existence
We must have the courage to say naïve things; do naïve things, persistently and amicable over the decades, simply because we believe they are right and feel they are right and are conscious that they are right. We can do no more than that. We must take our own lives seriously, and thereby everybody else’s. We must have the courage to believe that life is greater than we know. Doing what one feel is right, right there on the spot-and of changing if necessary. It is an acceptance that the most important thing one can do is to do something; to act and change in a way that is good as far as one can tell, even if it seems naïve. Change is an acceptance of naivete, not an acceptance of passiveness.” User Illusion by Thor Norreanders (a highly recommended book)
Trusting your unique expression, without judgement or comparison, takes courage. It is also the pathway to your unique expression.
For me it is also a seemingly endless journey. I had to take my focus off of what it looks like, learn and nurture self forgiveness and hunker down to build inner trust.
I continue to work on building self trust in order to elevate the hidden conversations that stop my flow. I have never found access by just getting over it. And work it is. And it works.
I could have never faced reinventing my entire expression at this moment in time, unless I understood how my subconscious and mind worked together or not. Letting go of judgement has allowed me to experience success and failure as a matter of natural law and physics. It also keeps me focused on the importance of inner trust. When I lose it I turn to my deepest friendships.
I am so blessed to have a handful of extraordinary friendships that create a safe harbor for me to get my footing. I would say having authentic friendships or other ships are vital to success. I was willing to live alone for many years until I could let that happen.
Love is where we charge our spiritual batteries.

The Dragon’s Speech
“I bestow on you the powers of the male and female, and also those of heaven and earth. The mysteries of my art must be handled with courage and greatness of mind…… I am mercurius: my spouse is the gold: I am the old dragon found everywhere, father, mother, young and old, very strong, very weak, death and resurrection, visible and invisible, I descend into the earth and ascend to the heavens. I am dark and light”.
The art of the warrior is to balance the terror of being a man with the wonder of being a man.
